"Affrettarsi lentamente" come atteggiamento per risolvere le tensioni innescate dalla molteplicità di caratteristiche che emergono da un repertorio in senso lato.

Brani r&b/soul, rap, trap, footwork, juke, ghettotech, folk, punk, HC, post-hardcore convivono insieme in un mix poliedrico di beat, bpm, colori, contesti, durate, mood, samples e sonorità differenti: una miscela eterogenea che «in qualche caso potrà realizzarsi per folgorazione improvvisa, ma che di regola vuol dire una paziente ricerca».

La rottura di simmetria è un fenomeno che ha reso possibile la creazione di tutto ciò che ci circonda; nel giovane universo, infatti, erano presenti delle parti meno dense di altre - che rompevano quindi la simmetria. Queste parti di universo cominciarono dunque ad ammassarsi per la gravità che esercita maggiore attrazione, creando così le stelle e le galassie.

Per questo motivo, di fatto, noi dobbiamo la nostra esistenza ad una mancanza di ordine.

Symmetry breaking is a phenomenon that made the creation of everything around us possible; in the young universe there were parts less dense than others - which therefore broke the symmetry. These parts of the universe began to pile up due to gravity which exerts greater attraction, thus creating stars and galaxies.

For this reason, in fact, we owe our existence to a lack of order.

«Nell’agosto del 2004, alla Conferenza Anarchica Nordamericana, in Athens, nell’Ohio, ho partecipato ad un confronto sul tema “nonviolenza contro violenza”. Come da previsione, la discussione si è trasformata in un dibattito improduttivo e competitivo. Avevo sperato che a ciascuna persona fosse concessa una quantità di tempo consistente per parlare, al fine di presentare le nostre idee in modo approfondito e limitare una raffica di argomentazioni banali. Ma il facilitatore, che era anche un organizzatore della conferenza – e per di più un relatore –, ha deciso di non adottare questo approccio.

A causa dell’egemonia che lɜ sostenitrici della nonviolenza esercitano, le critiche alla nonviolenza sono escluse dai principali quotidiani, dai media alternativi e da altri forum a cui accedono individualità anti-autoritarie.

La nonviolenza è mantenuta come dogma e come requisito per una completa inclusione nel movimento. Anti-autoritariɜ ed anti-capitalistɜ che suggeriscono una militanza diretta si ritrovano improvvisamente abbandonatɜ dallɜ stessɜ pacifistɜ con cui hanno protestato fino a poco prima. Una volta isolate, queste persone perdono accesso alle risorse e alla protezione dall’essere usate come capro espiatorio dai media o dalla criminalizzazione da parte del governo.

All’interno di queste dinamiche causate dall’isolamento istintivo di coloro che non si conformano alla nonviolenza, non c’è possibilità di un discorso sano e critico per valutare le strategie scelte».

«In August 2004, at the North American Anarchist Convergence in Athens, Ohio, I participated in a panel discussing the topic of nonviolence versus violence. Predictably, the discussion turned into an unproductive and competitive debate. I had hoped that each panelist would be given a substantial amount of time to speak in order to present our ideas in depth and to limit the likely alternative of a back-and-forth volley of clichéd arguments. But the facilitator, who was also a conference organizer, and on top of that a panelist, decided against this approach.

Because of the hegemony advocates of nonviolence exert, criticisms of nonviolence are excluded from the major periodicals, alternative media, and other forums accessed by anti-authoritarians.

Nonviolence is maintained as an article of faith, and as a key to full inclusion within the movement. Anti-authoritarians and anti-capitalists who suggest or practice militancy suddenly find themselves abandoned by the same pacifists they’ve just marched with at the latest protest. Once isolated, militants lose access to resources, and they lose protection from being scapegoated by the media or criminalized by the government. Within these dynamics caused by the knee-jerk isolation of those who do not conform to nonviolence, there is no possibility for a healthy or critical discourse to evaluate our chosen strategies».

«Già dalla mia giovinezza ho scelto come mio motto l'antica massima latina Festina lente, affrettati lentamente. Forse più che le parole e il concetto è stata la suggestione degli emblemi ad attrarmi. Ricorderete quello del grande editore umanista veneziano, Aldo Manuzio, che su ogni frontespizio simboleggiava il motto Festina lente in un delfino che guizza sinuoso attorno a un'àncora. [...] Ma delfino e àncora appartengono a un mondo omogeneo d'immagini marine; e io ho sempre preferito gli emblemi che mettono insieme figure incongrue ed enigmatiche come rebus. Come la farfalla e il granchio che illustrano il Festina lente nella raccolta d'emblemi cinquecenteschi di Paolo Giovio, due forme animali entrambe bizzarre ed entrambe simmetriche, che stabiliscono tra loro un'inattesa armonia».

«From my youth on, my personal motto has been the old Latin tag, Festina lente, hurry slowly. Perhaps what attracted me, even more than the words and the idea, was the suggestiveness of its emblems. You may recall that the great Venetian humanist publisher, Aldus Manutius, on all his title pages symbolized the motto Festina lente by a dolphin in a sinuos curve around an anchor. [...] But both dolphin and anchor belong to the same world of marine emblems, and I have always preferred emblems that throw together incongruous and enigmatic figures, as in a rebus. Such are the butterfly and crab that illustrate Festina lente in the sixteenth-century collection of emblems by Paolo Giovio. Butterfly and crab are both bizarre, both symmetrical in shape, and between them establish an unexpected kind of harmony».
