In Ensemblecore alcuni musicisti provenienti da scene spesso lontane fra loro verranno, grazie ad una violenta e discutibile scelta di brani, obbligati a partecipare ad un'orchestra che si riunisce una volta al mese. Il brano iniziale detta quale sarà la direzione. La speranza è che questi si rendano conto di avere alcune cose in comune.

Maximilian Gallorini era un ragazzino dalle grandi ambizioni e voglia di fare musica. Poi ha scontrato il muso ripetute volte contro dei muri e da allora l'unica cosa che riesce a fare è tamponare il sangue. Però, appena il sangue smette di sgorgare, la mente va sempre lì, alla stimolazione dei timpani.
